Breakout Web Series

Well, it’s about 3:30am and I’ve just finish editing the script, well, up to scene two that is b/c I accidentally erased episode three but hey, that’s how it goes. I’ve decided that Emily, the new assistant, is going to have a larger role that I had originally intended. That being said if this ever gets made whoever gets the part of Dr. Holloway better have one heck of a good memory! Good night!

Former TV Personality Marc Summers Will Star in Biographical Play Written by SCHOOL OF ROCK's Alex Brightman

By Marissa Sblendorio || March 8, 2016

TV personality Marc Summers will star in a biographical play written by SCHOOL OF ROCK star Alex Brightman as part of the Bloomington Playwrights Project in Indiana. Debuting this April, EVERYTHING IN ITS PLACE: THE LIFE AND SLIMES OF MARC SUMMERS, will be part of the company's celebrity guest star series.

You may know him from his time hosting Nickelodeon's DOUBLE DARE and Food Network's UNWRAPPED, or as the Producer of hits like DINNER:IMPOSSIBLE and RESTAURANT:IMPOSSIBLE, but now you get the chance to meet the real Marc Summers - a man who's led a fascinating life of fame and frustration. EVERYTHING IN ITS PLACE is a guided tour through Marc's life, from an early obsession with magic to his notable television career and his struggles with OCD. Marc stars in this tell-all about his life, his disorder, and taking the physical challenge.

Alex Brightman is currently starring in Andrew Lloyd Webber's production of SCHOOL OF ROCK. Brightman made his Broadway debut as an understudy in GLORY DAYS and soon went on to replace in the role of Boq in the Broadway company of WICKED, Michael Wormwood in the Broadway company of MATILDA, and then joined the original Broadway company of BIG FISH.

The Bloomington Playwrights Project (BPP) is the only professional theatre in the entire state of Indiana dedicated solely to new plays. In operation for 35 years, we serve both the Bloomington and national theatre community by working with talented playwrights, actors, and artists to develop high-level productions for our local patrons as well as the many audiences attending subsequent productions of scripts that originated here at the BPP. We are an advocate for playwrights and new plays and believe firmly that they are not only important but absolutely vital to the future of our art form.

A Tribute to Lennie Baker

A Tribute to Lennie Baker

It is with a very heavy heart that I dedicate this week’s Classic Nick rocks to our beloved Lennie Baker of Sha Na Na who peacefully passed away on Wednesday, February 24th at South Shore Hospital at the age of 69.

Lennie was the best saxophone player to ever grace a stage but he was funny as well. As you watch these videos you will see his wonderful, and priceless, facial expressions that crack me up every time!

As I’ve said before I have never seen my Sha boys in concert, or have met any of them, they were a part of my childhood and now that I’ve rediscovered them as an adult I love them even more than I did when I was a little girl.

Goodbye our sweet Lennie, we love you and we miss you very much.

Special Delivery – Wild Rides

Nickelodeon Takes A Roller-Coaster Ride
Ellensburg Daily Record – March 19, 1982

By Debra Morgenstern Katz

Passive viewing is on the way out at Nickelodeon, which wants kids to get involved with television. Their new program “Wild Rides” (March 28) searches for the greatest roller-coaster ride in America – and you are there.

Matt Dillon hosts the half-hour show, which uses a new camera mount to make viewers feel as if they’re in the seat of the ride; the combination of rock music and the noise of the ride itself combine to provide the closest actual experience.

The pilots for “Kids’ Writes,” another show designed to get children actively involved with TV, make encore appearances on March 24 and 26. A troupe of five performers act out the letters, poems, riddles, dreams, songs and compositions that children have sent in, without changing the words or characters. It’s the closest kids can come to writing their own TV show.
