"Twas The Night Before Christmas" Tomorrow People Style

Written By: Jackie Clarke
Based Loosely On: 'Twas The Night Before Christmas
By: Major Henry Livingston Jr. (1748-1828)

T'was the night before Christmas and all around TIM,
Not a creature was stirring as he hummed a soft hymn;
The AE suits hung in the darkroom with care,
In hope that no aliens would come calling there;

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of hyperspace danced in their heads;
And Liz in her nightdress and John all in white,
Had just settled down to sleep for the night.

When out in the Lab there arose such a clatter,
John jaunted at once to see what was the matter.
Away to the stun guns he flew like a flash,
Tore open the holster and threw up the catch.

The light of TIM's balls on the table below
Gave the banks of equipment a strange, eerie glow,
And then, to his wide-eyed amazement, he saw.
A tall, bearded man appeared by the door.

With thoughtful eyes, and robes so sublime,
John knew in a moment 'twas a Guardian of Time.
From an unknown dimension this stranger so tall,
He whistled, and shouted, and called to them all;

"Now, Michael! Now, Carol! Now, 'Lizbeth and John!
Come, Tyso! And Stephen! Where ever you've gone!
Andrew, and Hsui Tai come answer my call,
There's work to be done to the Trig with you all!"

With belts haphazardly slung round their waists
The long-distance jaunt they made with all haste.
Far across space to the Galaxy's end,
TIM 'pathed a good-luck to all his dear friends.

And then, in a twinkling, they materialized.
Sighed with relief, and looked round in surprise.
John crossed his arms to calm himself down.
"Let's get on with business," he said, with a frown.

Approaching them now, with arms open wide,
His robes luminescent, his eyes full of pride;
A bundle of presents he held with TK,
They relaxed in an instant, no jaunting away.

Chairbeing Timus didn't mean to seem rude.
He counted their number then looked on confused.
"There's somebody missing," he cried, after a time
"Kenny's back home, we left him behind."

Timus' eyes -- how they twinkled so merry!
His cheeks were all flushed, his nose like a cherry
His manner was cheery, his speech was quite slurred
To find Timus drunk seemed quite absurd.

"Apologies friends", he then called loud and hearty
"I've imbibed too much wine at the Trig's Christmas party."
"It was Peter's idea to bring you all here."
"Don't look so shocked, there's nothing to fear."

"No villains to thwart, no planets to save."
"You don't need to fret, don't look so grave."
And they laughed when they heard this, in spite of their anger;
Dragged from their beds, expecting real danger.

John smiled at his friends, as he waved them away"
The joke was on us." Was all he could say.
And they all fell about in hysterical mirth
Preparing to teleport back down to Earth.

The bundle of presents appeared at their feet.
With gift-wrap and tinsel all tidy and neat.
"A gift for each TP." Timus replied.
As the vortex of colour swirled in their eyes
And they heard him exclaim, as he faded from sight,

"HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD-NIGHT!"

Classic Nick Rocks

Hey Y'all,

Well, I’ve been thiking about doing something for a little while now and I think I’m ready now.

Every Saturday I post a “Forever 80’s!” playlist of videos in my brother’s F/B group "Your Childhood Days Remembered” as well as a group we own together called “Our Lives in Music.” So I started thinking that I should start posting those same videos here and call it “Classic Nick Rocks.”

Now I realized that I’m not going to have a fancy entro like the real Nick Rocks, all I have it this screen cap that I’ve added the word “classic” to, but I thought it would be nice to just take a look back at some of the old 80’s videos.

So here’s the short list and sorry that I’m posting it on a Sunday and not on Saturday as I had planned but I’ve been a little sick. I went to be about 6:30pm and woke up when my sister called about 10:30pm so I figured since I was up I’d check my F/B and post these for y’all. Hope you enjoy them.

John Fogerty – Centerfield

Bruce Springsteen – Glory Days

El Debarge – Who’s Johnny?

Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam – Lost In Emotion

In Search of Saturdays

Welcome to “In Search of Saturdays" a space I’ve designed to help members find those long lost movies, cartoons, TV shows, toys, games and anything else that we’ve all been looking for, for a very long time.

The instructions are simple. Post your personal “looking for” list here and we’ll all see if we can help you find what you’re looking for.

If you can’t remember the name of a show or toy that’s alright, post what you can remember and maybe someone here will be able to tell you what it is. Also please remember that if you are listing television shows or movies please let us know if you are looking to purchase these shows or if you just want to watch them online. Then we, the members of the group, will help try to help each other and go “in search of” those items for our fellow members.

A good places to start our searches is iOffer ( http://www.ioffer.com/ ) which, in my opinion, is better than eBay b/c you can find lots of shows there that you can’t find anywhere else.

MY WANT LIST
This is a list of the Classic Nickelodeon programs that I’m looking for to purchase. Please note that I am a private collector who does not copy and resell my collection. If you have any of these and would like to sell me copies – for my private viewing – please contact me at

Michael Bond: The 10 Things I Never Knew About Paddington

Classic Nick Wednesday - Michael Bond: The 10 Things I Never Knew About Paddington
Wednesday, November 12, 2014

Story Link:

1. I didn't know bears like marmalade.

2. Nor did I know they like cocoa.

3. I didn't know Paddington’s age, so I asked him.

4. He didn't know either. He suggested I telephoned his Aunt Lucy.

5. He didn't tell me she lives in a Home for Retired Bears in Lima. When I eventually reached her she asked me if I knew what time it was in Peru. I didn't know that either. She said it was one o’clock in the morning!

6. When I phoned back at a more reasonable hour and asked how old her nephew was, she said: “There are some things you don’t ask a bear.” and hung up on me.

7. I don’t believe in taking “no” for an answer, and when I tried again, she said: “If there is one thing bears can’t stand it’s people with clipboards asking them how old they are!” and hung up on me again,

8. So I rang back and asked how bears felt about people without a clipboard.

9. She said: “Nobody without one has ever lived to tell the tale. Who wants to know?”

10. I had no idea either, so I gave her your telephone number. I hope you don’t mind!

By Michael Bond
Michael’s new book Love from Paddington is a collection of letters written by Paddington to his aunt Lucy. It’s published on 6 November 2014 and is the only Paddington novel to be written in first person so you get to enjoy Paddington’s adventures from his own perspective! Michael Bond’s first Paddington book, a Bear Called Paddington, was published back in 1958.

We have five amazing Paddington book bundles to give away to five lucky winners (including the new Love from Paddington book). Email childrens.books@theguardian.com with the subject heading “Paddington comp” telling us why you should win by 10 November 2014.

And then… on 28 November 2014, the Paddington movie (http://www.paddington.com/gb/the-movie/) is coming to town!

The Monkees

Classic Nick Wednesday – The Monkees
Wednesday, October 15, 2014

Hey guys,

I know I haven’t been doing too many Classic Nickelodeon Wednesday posts but I’ve been so busy I just haven’t had the time to do them anymore but I wanted to share with you something I just recently found out.

The Family Net channel has started airing two hours of The Monkees on Saturday mornings! Now some of you may ask what a 60’s television series has to do with 80’s Nickelodeon but I promise you The Monkees were a big part of 80’s Nickelodeon.

The Monkees originally aired on NBC from September 1966 to March 1968 with 1986 marking the group’s 20th anniversary. MTV celebrated Monkeemania by airing a Monkees TV show marathon ("Pleasant Valley Sunday") on February 23, 1986 then Nickelodeon joined in the fun by airing the original series daily. Between the two stations Monkeemania was reborn and The Monkees were a hit once again as their original albums began selling again including their greatest hits collection reaching platinum status.

That same year original members Micky Dolenz and Peter Tork released “That Was Then, This Is Now” with Davy Jones joining them a bit later when they released “Heart and Soul.”

Paddington Bear - 'Collector's Edition' Combines '70s Show and '90s Show on DVD!
Posted by David Lambert – 9/29/2014

3-disc set from Mill Creek will be out in late November, a month before the new film hits theaters!

Back in 2011, we told you how Mill Creek Entertainment was releasing a couple of DVD sets with the original 1975 stop-motion animated series of Paddington Bear. We also reminding you at the time how the cartoon version of The Adventures of Paddington Bear, which aired in the '90s, had already been on DVD since 2002. Now, with the new Paddington motion picture coming to theaters on Christmas Day 2014, the folks at Mill Creek are putting together a special new release of Paddington Bear - Collector's Edition, with both TV shows together!

Here's the studio description:
Everyone s Favorite Curious and Cuddly Bear! Based off the acclaimed books by Michael Bond, Paddington Bear has captured the imaginations and hearts of young and old around the world for generations. Dressed in his characteristic blue duffle coat and oversized hat, the helpful and cuddlesome Paddington has a gift of putting his paws where he shouldn’t, creating hours of hilariously sticky situations!

A stow-away from darkest Peru, Paddington eventually finds himself alone in Paddington Station, a tag around his neck reading: Please look after this bear. Thank you. When the Brown family takes him home, they get a lot more than they bargained for. This cuddly DVD collection features all 56 episodes and all three-half hour specials of the original stop-motion production along with 13 episodes of the animated series The Adventures of Paddington Bear.

The 3-DVD set will cost just $14.98 SRP, and is available in stores on November 25th...giving you a full month to enjoy these shows with your kids before the new film hits the box office. Here's a look at the package art.
