In Search of Saturday

Welcome to “In Search of Saturdays" an advertising space I’ve designed to help our members find those long-lost movies, cartoons, TV shows, toys, games and anything else that we’ve all been looking for, for a very long time.

The instructions are simple. Post your personal “looking for” list in the comments and we’ll all see if we can help you find what you’re looking for. - This will be a group effort please.

If you can’t remember the name of a show or toy that’s alright, post what you can remember and maybe someone here will be able to tell you what it is. Also, please remember that if you are listing television shows or movies please let us know if you are looking to purchase these shows or if you just want to watch them online. Then we, the members of the group, will help try to help each other and go “in search of” those items for our fellow members.

A good place to start our searches is iOffer which, in my opinion, is better than eBay because you can find lots of shows there that you can’t find anywhere else.

If you have any of these and would like to sell me copies – for my private viewing – please contact me at peggysueclay@hotmail.com Also, IF YOU CONTACT ME VIA EMAIL PLEASE PUT THE NAME OF THE SHOW IN THE SUBJECT LINE. Classic Nick Wed. – Musti

In 1969 graphic artist Ray Goossens created a cartoon character by the name of Musti, a little kitten who lives his mother and father in a little house in a rural village, surrounded by a large garden with animals and trees. According to the official website, the character was developed in 1945, but there is no documentation to support this claim.

Television Series
By the 1990s Musti had already aired in two dozen countries with a total of 156 episodes but it had first been developed into an animated series in 1969 on Flemish television, with Rachel Frederix as narrator. With stories centering around young children specific stories are told in just a couple of minutes.

In 1980 Musti appeared on television the Netherlands, the narrators were Arnold Gelderman and Marijke Merckens. In the 1990s a second series was made, with a white background, with Musti's original pronunciation, Muh-sti, now changed to Moo-sti.

A new television series was created in 2007 giving the series a fresh new look. Gone were the white backgrounds and flat 2D images; now Musti, his family and his friends and even his home lived in a vibrant 3D world with Kristel Van Craen as the narrator.

Musti airs in Belgium, the Netherlands, Israel, Norway, Japan, Croatia, Portugal and the United States on BabyFirst TV. Al-Jazeera aired the series throughout the Arabic world.

Books
The Flemish publisher Standaard Uitgeverij carries an extensive portfolio of Musti children's books, targeting children aged 3-6. Dupuis printed a number of Musti children's comics in French, based on the character's appearances in the magazine Bonne Soirée.

Software
Educational software programs have been developed with Musti as the lead character. They are currently only available in Dutch. – On a side note they are also available on Android devices, I know because I have downloaded one of them.

ON YOUR MARC SNEAK PREVIEW & LIVE EVENT TOUR!

Announcing the sneak preview tour for On Your Marc, the new feature-length documentary that intimately captures the life, career and legacy of TV icon Marc Summers. Summers will present the film in person, coupled with an array of singular events, during a coast-to-coast preview screening tour revolving around the 31st anniversary of Summers’ Double Dare this October.

In On Your Marc, the Indiana native looks back on his "messy" ups and downs, as he powers through the nerve-racking production and opening night of "Everything In Its Place: The Life & Slimes of Marc Summers," his hilariously illuminating one-man show, co-written by rising Broadway stars Alex Brightman (Tony-nominated lead in School of Rock: The Musical) and composer Drew Gasparini.
Like his two best-known television series, Double Dare and Unwrapped, On Your Marc combines a scrappy, “anything goes” appeal with that of an incisive, informative look at the nature of being in the spotlight. Along the way, Summers reveals how he survived cancer, a recent near-fatal car crash and his lifelong bout with OCD.
Reflecting the unconventional quality of Summers’ career, the On Your Marc tour will showcase a unique array of live events in each city. These include performances by local bands, Q&As with special guests, celebrity hosts, interactive Double Dare type games ... and even Summers singing along with one-man show "Everything In Its Place" co-writers Alex and Drew.

Our goal in producing the tour was to forego the conventional path of film festivals, and bring the movie directly to the fans. Festivals, conventions, streaming services and perhaps a more traditional theatrical run with a distributor will all likely be explored later on. But for now, we want to celebrate the film’s completion, the impact of Marc Summers and the community still building around what he stands for in what will be memorable evenings throughout the nation!
