Welcome
to “Lights,
Camera, Action! – Movie Making Tips for Beginners & Pros,” my version of
Nickelodeon’s classic “Standby...Lights! Camera! Action!” which was hosted by Leonard Nimoy.
Twice a month I will post about five videos
which relate to film making in one way or another. At times I may also post a
craft type video which, with a bit of imagination can be used in a film one way
or another even if it’s in the background.
Keep in mind that the topic of the video can
be adapted to whatever type of film you’re working on. For instance, if I post
a video about how to make a science fiction set, or prop, remember that the
information is still valuable to use but you can make it fit whatever you
happen to be working on at the time.
As
mentioned above I will be posting to LCA twice a month in rotation with Mystery
Monday. Enjoy.

**You could use resin instead of

Most households with young children have undoubtedly head of the smash children’s group The Wiggles. But did you know that before Anthony
and Jeff dawned their famous blue and purple skivvies they were topping the
charts with The Cockroaches with hits like, “She’s The One,” "Double Shot
(Of My Baby's Love)" and "Hey What Now!"?
What
most fans, of either group, know is that band member John Field, Anthony’s brother,
who wrote all of the big hits for The Cockroaches took some of their songs, reworded them and turned them into hit songs for The Wiggles! Below you will hear
the original songs by The Cockroaches and then the Wiggly version. Which one do
you like best? Or, like me, do you love them all?
Happy Labor Day and welcome
to “Mystery Monday”, a bi-monthly, new feature here at The Classic Nickelodeon
Fan Blog. “Mystery Monday” will feature both mystery films and retro science
fiction films; this is my version of “The Third Eye,” but without the
paranormal aspect.
As mentioned, “Mystery Monday”
will be a bi-monthly feature alongside, “Lights, Camera, Action! – Movie Making Tips
for Beginners & Pros,” which will be featured the other two Mondays of the
month. It is, as the title suggest for both beginners and professional filmmakers
and is of course my version of “Standby! Lights! Camera! Action!”
To start things off I’d like
to introduce you to two of my favorite crime solving Ladies of Mystery; Kellie
Martin staring as “Samantha Kinsey” Samantha is an avid murder-mystery fan who
inherits a bookstore from her uncle who passed away in the first film. Her
extensive knowledge of murder-mystery books assists her in her amateur
sleuthing.
Our second Lady of Mystery is
Candace Cameron Bure who stars as “Aurora 'Roe' Teagarden” in the Aurora Teagarden
Mysteries. Roe is a librarian in the small town of Lawrenceton, Washington who
runs the Real Murders Club.
So, without further ado,
welcome to Mystery Mondays!
