Classic Nick Wed. – Clever Jack

My apologies I had two very long meetings yesterday so I didn't have a chance to post this.

Classic Nick Wed. – Clever Jack
March 13, 2013
This 1985 classic musical version of "Jack And The Beanstalk" is hosted by Lucie Arnaz and stars the critically acclaimed First All Children's Theater which consists of more than 30 singing and dancing gifted young performers including a very young Ben Stiller (yes movie star Ben Stiller – that’s him in the red cloak on the left) as The Giant.
The First All Children’s Theater was the first children’s theater to ever receive a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. As Lucie Arnaz says, the First All Children’s Theater is “exciting” and “exhilarating” and “a very special place.” TV critic Kay Garbella of the New York Daily News said of Clever Jack, “It’s a romp. Classic Nick Alert!!!

I’m sorry yall, I was going to try to get this information to you yesterday but we had a big storm come through and I had to unplug the computer. Then we wound up loosing power for over half an hour and this is the first chance I’ve had to get this to you.

There are a few Classic Nickelodeon programs coming on later today (Sept. 2nd) so if you haven’t seen them or don’t remember them or whatever here’s you’re chance to see them.

The first is the remake of the original “Tuck Everlasting” which is based on the book by Natalie Babbitt about a family that lives forever. (Personally I like the original better but the remake is still really good.) This was a Special Delivery on Nick around…’82…maybe a little later.

This is the story of a family that will live forever and of young love. It stars Alexis Blebel and William Hurtly and costars Sissy Spacek. All times given are for the CENTRAL TIME ZONE so you’ll need to check your local listings.

Channel: Starz Kids & Family
Date: September 2, 2010
Times: 11:55-1:30PM; 7-8:35PM

Next is a Classic Nickelodeon reference to a Special Delivery called “Clever Jack”, a musical version of Jack in the Beanstalk, which stars Lucie Arnaz as the host and preformed by the First All Children’s Theater. Filmed in 1985 this classic stars Ben Stiller as the giant, which is where the Classic Nick reference comes in.

The Biography Channel they will air a biography on Ben Stiller entitled, “There’s Something About Ben Stiller”. The first part of the program features, of course, his younger years and growing up with showbiz parents then moves on to his performance in “Clever Jack”. (That’s him on the left with the red cape over his head.)

Channel: Biography Channel
Date: September 2, 2010
Times: 2-3PM; 3-4AM

And finally we have the Classic Nick Special Delivery “The Water Babies” which stars James Mason and Bernard Cribbins, This is about a chimney sweep named Tom who goes on an underwater adventure to find the Water Babies and rescue his friends. This classic starts out as a live action movie then transforms into animation and back again by the end of the film.

It is scheduled to air on the Family Network at 6:30AM on Friday, Sept. 3rd.

Channel: Family Channel
Date: September 3, 2010
Times: 6-8AM

I hope that all of you are able to catch these great Classic Nickelodeon Special Delivery programs and remember the days when we were all growing up and live was simple.
