The
Snowman was shown as a Special Delivery in the early 1980’s which is probably
when most of us first saw it. In 2012, to mark the 30th anniversary of the
original film, a short animated sequel was created called, “The Snowman and The
Snowdog.”
Last
month when I had to go out of town to get my car serviced my Mom and I stopped
by the local Target to look around. As I glided down the isles I happened upon
this beautiful while chocolate version of The Snowman and The Snowdog and
couldn’t resist taking pictures to share with all of you. Hope you like them.
Drake
Bell was arrested Monday on suspicion of driving under the influence in
Glendale, California.
The
29-year-old former Nickelodeon star was pulled over at around 2 a.m. after
police saw him swerving and speeding after abruptly stopping at a red light,
Glendale police tell ET. Police say he also failed a field sobriety test, after
an officer noticed the smell of alcohol coming from the car.
The
actor/musician, best known for his role on Nickelodeon's Drake & Josh, has
remained quiet so far about the incident on social media. Recently, he's been
promoting his upcoming shows in Mexico scheduled for February, which he shared
have sold out.
Interestingly
enough, the outspoken Twitter user -- who apologized in June for what he called
"insensitive" remarks about Caitlyn Jenner, and had been embroiled in
a longtime feud with Justin Bieber -- mocked the "Sorry" singer's own
DUI arrest last January.
So
what is everyone doing for the holidays? Does it involve slime and an obstacle
course?
Mine doesn’t, I’m going to Mamma’s on Christmas Eve to spend time with my
parents and my brother and sister-in-law. They live out of town so we don’t get
to see them much so I’m looking forward to hanging out with them.
Since this week has been a
bit turned around anyway I may as well go with it and post a Special Delivery
today instead of videos then try to get back to normal after the holidays. On
that note look for my special Christmas post coming up either the 24th
or 25th.
Now, this Special Delivery is
actually a three in one Delivery. The three featured are, as they appear, “The Stowaway,”
“Big Apple Birthday,” and “Alex and the WonderfulDoo-Wah Lamp”all of
which aired as Special Deliveries on Nickelodeon in the ‘80’s.
Those three shorts came from
a two videos called “Unicorn Tales 1 & 2.” Now I can’t find these shows separately
online but some wonderful someone has put both videos online for us to enjoy
and personally I am very thankful. I have the music from Big Apple Birthday and
The Stowaway on CASSETTE TAPE that I taped off Nickelodeon when they aired back
in the 1980’s!!! I loved these two shows and while I do have them on VHS my VCR
isn’t working right now so I haven’t been able to watch them for a while. (Bit
of my own history right there.)
So enjoy these Specials and I’ll
see you all next week with Christmas Videos and Classic Specials!
SO SORRY THIS IS SO LATE! Things have been crazy around here with the holidays just around the corner. I volunteer at the local Mission and we've been really swamped lately so by the time I get home I'm excused so please forgive me for taking so long to get this out to you.
A fired New York City maid reluctantly becomes the
governess to a poorly behaved little girl who turns out to be European royalty.
Before long the two form a strong bond, and the governess also grows close to
the young princess’ engaged father. (Drama, 120 Minutes)
In less than ten minutes in as the New York City
maid and her sister are leaving for work she gets into a snowball fight with a
young man who is one of their neighbors. She throws a snow ball at him, runs
off and yells out, “GOT YOU LAST!”
·Later as she is leaving her home in New York that
same young man picks up a snowball and throws it at the car and yells, “GOT YOU
LAST!”
·Why is that important? Because Plus & Minus,
who were puppets on Pinwheel, use to play a game of tag and when they would tag
each other they would say, “got you last!”
Hey guys, I don't really want to get into a long drawn out post but I'm going to take a small break from posting. Yesterday (Monday 11-16-15) I found out my cat Cece had cancer and they were not going to be able to save her. Then a little while ago I got a call from the vet, she said she has seen a shift in Cece's attitude and asked if I could come and pick her up tomorrow. Physically I am not able to drive up there tomorrow, I need to rest b/c it's 45 minutes away, so I will pick her up on Friday. Then on Saturday I will be working with the Mission to help provide a community Thanksgiving meal for everyone who would like to attend so I will be very busy. But I was just thinking, the Halloween videos seemed to work out pretty well so maybe i can find some old Thanksgiving day parade videos to post for you. And if I can find any clips of Turkey Television I will post those as well but it won't be till next week. Thank you for understanding, Peggy Sue
Most
people are familiar with the 2002 Disney remake of this film but chances are
that most of the people who watched it have never seen the original film from
1981. Both films are based on Natalie Babbitt's 1975 children's book of the
same title.
The
story revolves around Winnie Foster, a girl from a well-bred, strait-laced, upper-class
family who feels suffocated and longs to make her own choices in life. One day
while she is taking a walk in the woods her father owns she meets Jessie Tuck,
a young man with a secret. Soon they are met by Jessie’s mother and brother; as
they begin to talk they hear Winnie’s mother calling for her. Afraid outsiders
will discover their secret they kidnap Winnie to protect their secret but not
before they run into the man in the yellow suit.
Who
is he and what is his connection with the Tuck family? Find out in the original
1981 version of “Tuck Everlasting.”
It’s
Halloween and whether you’re going to a party or passing out candy to the kidos
good music always sets the mood and these tunes will have you up and dancing before
you can say trick-or-treat!
